Hand-Knotted Qum Wool Runner From Iran (Persian)
ABOUT THIS RUNNER
In stock at our Olney showroom
Beautiful example of high quality wool Qum rug. Incredibly dense weaving making it practical as a hall runner. Lovely, distinctive and sophisticated floral design. Very rarely we come accross Qum runners. They tend to be produced in medium to large rectangular shapes.
Qum rugs are woven in the Holy City of Qum located in the South of Tehran. They are amongst the most expensive and desirable rugs in the world, quintessentially Persian and very collectable. The majority of Qum rugs are small to medium in size and many are woven with luxurious silk, others like this one, use very fine wool which is densely knotted making extremely decorative rugs that are often hung on proud owners' walls. The designs are typically curvilinear and floral in their pattern but many are woven to a more pictorial scene, often a tree of life design.
This Hand-knotted Qum wool RUNNER dimensions are 358cm Length by 81cm Wide.
